Company Information

We are a company with Christian principles specialising in audio post-production, providing the highest possible standard of service and quality control. Established by Dave Aston in 1987, The Digital Audio Company is owned by partners Dave and Sharon Aston.

We offer creative and technical skills in music and speech recording, editing & mastering for CD, post-production for TV and multi-media applications, and DVD authoring.

Being based outside London, much of our work is unattended, although we are more than happy to have clients present during sessions. We are used to working from tapes, accompanied by notes and scores, creating approval copies before work is released for manufacture. All work is thoroughly checked and verified and master tapes are auditioned before they leave the building. We are often the last creative process in the chain, and understand the responsibility and trust that clients place in us.

Studio design is by Recording Architecture featuring ATC monitoring, together with a spacious voice booth, in purpose-built premises overlooking the beautiful Aire Valley in Skipton, North Yorkshire.

• Mastering and CD preparation - corrective and creative mastering prior to production of masters for CD or cassette.
• DVD audio mixing and mastering, including surround.
• DVD authoring and transfer from various video formats to DVD.
• CD, DVD, Blu-ray Disc, VHS and cassette manufacture - audio and multi-media, including print, packaging, assembly and delivery. We use Europe's leading factories to ensure the best possible quality.
• CDR and DVD-R duplication - creation of write once audio and data CDR's or video and data DVD-R's. Full verification and photo quality colour on-body print available. Viable for shorter runs. Fast turnaround too!
• Post-production sound for TV - auto-conforming, dialogue replacement, track laying, mixing, and lay-backs.
• DVD authoring - capture and encoding of video, sub titling, multiple audio streams, menu creation and final master production.
• Audio editing - music and speech editing, with fades and sequencing from original session masters.
• Voice recording - voice overs for radio and TV advertising, corporate presentations, fashion shows, talking books, multi-media, etc.
• Audio for multi-media applications - speech, music and effects created either wild or synchronised, and supplied as files optimised for target delivery system.
• Location sound for TV - from PSC to OB trucks.
• Music recording - direct to stereo and multi-track for all styles of music: studio based or location.
• Music mixing - stereo and surround, including mixing to picture for DVD.
